Allan Saint-Maximin is set to join the Damac team in January after being linked with a move away from Newcastle United. The Frenchman has been on the fringes of the first-team since his arrival at St James' Park last summer and it looks like he will be leaving the club this month. Saint-Maximin has had a mixed start to life at Newcastle, with some impressive performances against top-flight opposition but also showing flashes of poor form that have seen him drop down the pecking order. The winger has struggled to find regular game time under Rafa Benitez and this could well be the opportunity for him to move on and play regularly in the Premier League. He may have to fight for his place in the squad if he wants to stay at the club beyond the January transfer window. In terms of transfer rumours, there are plenty of names doing the rounds. Some of the biggest names include Manchester City, Liverpool,Campeonato Brasileiro Action Arsenal and Chelsea all being mentioned as potential suitors for the player. However, it seems likely that Saint-Maximin will end up joining one of these clubs before the window closes. Regardless of where he ends up, it is clear that Saint-Maximin has shown enough talent to earn a starting spot in any top flight side. It remains to be seen whether he can make the most of his chances at Newcastle or if he will struggle to break into the squad. Whatever happens, it is certain that he will be a big loss for Newcastle United and fans will miss him greatly. |
